CURRENT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Join a Board Committee!
Our success depends on active committee engagement from our members.
AVAHO currently needs assistance with the following committees:
If you would like to serve on a committee, please
contact Julie Lawson at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Committee participation is a significant factor in AVAHO's success. Because our committees are hands-on, you gain professional leadership skills while making a difference for nearly 800 VA professionals. Committees typically meet monthly via teleconference call. Additional work will be expected to be completed outside this time frame. Submitting this application signifies you understand and agree to this commitment. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our office at 206-794-9124 or send an email to email@example.com.
Serve as a Reviewer for educational materials!
The AVAHO Education Committee is soliciting clinicians to review organization-developed education materials. Those materials approved by the review team will be posted on the AVAHO website for use by members, veterans and caregivers. Education materials may be related to disease, treatment, side effect/symptom management, and coping/survivorship.
Materials will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
Relevance to veterans/veteran care
Accuracy of content
Ease of reproduction
Each educational material submitted will be vetted by three independent reviewers. (Each review will be scored separately and mean scores determined.) Reviewers must be willing and able to submit their review within three weeks of receipt. (Note: In the event a reviewer cannot make a particular deadline, a prompt reply stating such will be required so that another reviewer can be solicited.)
A core of 10 individuals should be able to provide timely reviews without undue burden on any one reviewer. We will convene a meeting to discuss the evaluation process and criteria so all are familiar and to enhance inter-rater reliability.
Please provide the following information to Mary Thomas at Mary.Thomas@va.gov or firstname.lastname@example.org.
